A minor ailments service allows you easy access to advice and treatment from your Community Pharmacy. This service compliments existing GP and Out of Hours services and may save the need for a doctor's appointment The patient must be exempt from prescription payments and be registered with an NHS Cambridgeshire GP practice. Patients who usually pay for their prescriptions may still consult the pharmacist but will be required to pay for any medicines they purchase over the counter. No treatment can be provided to children of less than 3 months of age. The minor ailments service can help you if you require emergency hormonal contraception or treatment for one of the following ailments: Cold sores; conjunctivitis; constipation; cough; diarrhoea; earache; fungal skin infections; hayfever; headache; indigestion and infant gripes; nappy rash; nasal congestion; sore throat; temperature; threadworm; thrush.
