Since the devastating 9.0 magnitude earthquake and subsequent Tsunami caused major destruction in northern Japan, many organisations have raised life saving funds to support the initial aid and relief needed. AAR Japan is one of those charities. UK donations have been raised by GlobalGiving UK, who in turn has disbursed funds directly to AAR Japan. Whilst there is still an absolute need for the continuation of the distribution of food and non-food items (such as sleeping bags, blankets, etc), medium and long term projects must now be adopted. It is now imperative that we all work together to ensure that the enormity of the destruction is not forgotten and as the relief project continues to the next stage, specific donations for specific projects are now needed.
