Short profile:

If you are a prospective parent, I hope that by the time your have had your ‘tour’ of the website, you feel that you know us a little better. We are proud of our school and we provide a caring and stimulating environment in which our children learn. The very best way to find out how we work and get a ‘feel’ for the place, is to come and visit.

At Dunchurch Infant School we have a very enthusiastic and active school council.

Detailed description:

This school provides an excellent and ever growing range of activities for our learners.

Enrichment activities such as school trips, visits from other services and professionals such as the local fire brigade, doctor, nurse, vet, poets, story-tellers etc all give our children a greater understanding of our world and motivate their learning.

All children have two hours of PE and sport each week which is a combination of gymnastics, games and dance. Some lessons are taught by class teachers and others by visiting professionals.

A wide range of activities and clubs are available both after school and at lunch times. These include French, football, multi-sport, gymnastics and yoga.

Our links with Warwick public school and local secondary specialist schools have resulted in our children accessing activities such as trampolining, climbing and swimming.

Recent enrollment with Warwick University's Kids' Club adds greater incentive to all children to attend a wide range of clubs and receive recognition for it.

Music is taught by visiting specialists on a regular basis, whilst recorder club is run by a class teacher.

Good use is also made of the village shops, churches and other amenities.

In Nursery we are always very busy. We have been learning all about ourselves. We have all enjoyed making pictures of our faces and talking about our families. We are making a 'Personality Patchwork' with the help of our parents. In the outside classroom we are developing our physical skills in a variety of ways.

We are all enjoying being at school and making new friends. We have been finding lots of lovely things to do in the Reception unit. Mrs Barnes and Miss Eason keep us very busy. Having lunch at school has also been exciting, we have been learning 'All about me!'. In the Reception Unit we have a wonderful outside classroom where we explore and learn in a different environment.
