The school has been much involved in the initiation and development of an annual residential visit of about 180 Year Six pupils transferring to Tarporley High School; this is an induction course staffed by High School and Primary teachers.
Detailed description:
Arts, sports and music play an important part in the life of the school and pupils develop good skills.
A range of lunchtime and after-school sports activities are available.Year Five children are trained as sports play leaders to assist the younger ones.Other after-school activities include, dance, art, choir and orchestra.
Each year the school is involved in the organisation of an athletics competition for seventeen schools in the Malpas Deanery and is also involved in heading the Chester Schools Sports Association which arranges tournaments in a range of sports.
The school arranges visits from musicians, dance groups and ethnic groups, as well as authors and museum officers.
Staff are committed to the value of first-hand experiences and a large number of visits are arranged. These include residential and day visits to enrich many curriculum areas. These include visits to London and PGL for older children and a residential visit to Burwardsley for Key Stage One pupils.
