Short profile:
Our school community is one of partnership where mutual care and support
flourishes. Pupils, staff, parents and governors all have a part to play in
making the school a safe secure place of learning. Older pupils are
encouraged to show an awareness of the needs of the youngest and effort as
well as achievement is valued and celebrated by all. Pervading the school is a
work ethos, which brings about a purposeful atmosphere and a business like
approach to learning.
We strongly promote the idea that everyone is good at something and
everyone is equally valued by the whole community, pupils and adults alike.
We all work towards the same goal, learning to value the world in which we
live and show care kindness and courtesy to those around us.
Detailed description:
Our shared vision is: We seek to discover and celebrate whatever is good in
each individual.
Denver Primary School is a Voluntary Controlled School, which provides
education for approximately 100 children aged between 4+ and 11 years.
Voluntary Controlled means the school is controlled and funded by the Local
Authority but the Church owns the site and retains some influence in
religious education provision and staff appointments. The governing body has
responsibility for the budget & running of the school.
The school originally catered for children who resided within the parish of
Denver but in 1995 the school amalgamated with West Dereham whose
children are brought to school by bus.
Other facilities are the central library, an ICT suite, and a resource room, all
of which provide additional teaching environments for small group work or
one to one teaching support. In the centre of the school and at the heart of
school life is the large school hall. The hall is particularly well equipped with
gymnastic apparatus providing all year round physical education provision.
Additionally the hall is used for assembly, school performances and lunch.
