LHPs are responsible for organising and ensuring the smooth running of most of the community services in their locality area. These are the services usually outside hospital and associated with GPs and their surgeries. Community services include District Nurses, Health Visitors, Community Psychiatric Nurses and Administration and Clerical Staff.
The LHP has a Core Group, comprising of Assistant General Manager, Clinical Lead, Clinical Nurse Manager and Development Manager. The Core Group meets monthly.
The LHP has a Management Group comprising of Assistant General Manager, Clinical Lead, Clinical Nurse Manager, lead General Practitioners (GP), Primary Care Pharmacists, Public Health Practitioner, Development Manager, Health Promotion Specialist, Practice Manager representative, Allied Health Professional representative and Health and Social Care Department representative. The Management Group meets monthly and is the driving force for the LHP, taking the lead in implementing CHP strategies and LHP projects.
In support of the Management Group, there is a range of sub-groups focussing on specific areas of health service provision and development. Each group is multi-disciplinary and where appropriate multi-agency.
The LHP also has a GP Practice Representative's group with a GP representative from each of the Practices in the LHP. The GP Representatives group meets quarterly.
