In the United Kingdom it is estimated that up to 4 out of every 5 adults over 16 years of age, will suffer from some form back pain at some point in their lifetime. Coming second only to the common cold, back pain is the highest reason for patients to seek medical advice. The lower back or lumbar spine region, which is the most common form of back ache, is responsible for supporting most of the bodies weight but unfortunately this makes it very vulnerable to strain and injury through normal everyday use.
