Short profile:
Dartmoor National Park is one of Britain’s Breathing Spaces, and a member of the 15-strong National Park family. Dartmoor National Park covers an area of 368 square miles, making it the largest and wildest area of open country in Southern England. Lots of people visit the National Park to enjoy the beautiful scenery and to recharge their batteries, but many come to get active!
The Authority’s main offices are located at Parke, Bovey Tracey. Opening hours are: Monday to Thursday 9.00 am to 5 pm and Friday 9.00am to 4:30pm.

With over 450 miles (730km) of public rights of way, there is an abundance of walking routes to suit all tastes and abilities. Dartmoor also boasts a variety of cycle routes, both on and off road, making it as challenging as you want it. However, what makes Dartmoor really special is its cultural heritage – did you know that it has some of the best archaeological sites in Western Europe? There’s something for everyone, all year round, so we’ll look forward to welcoming you back again and again.
