We value and need the support of parents and other family members or friends in our classrooms. Many activities such as swimming or trips would be impossible without your help.

Pupils also gain a great deal by sharing their learning with you - whether that is reading a book or putting on a dramatic or musical performance.

Children feel more motivated to learn when they know you value the effort they put in and the success they achieve. At Damers School we prize highly your involvement.

You are welcome to speak informally with your child's teacher most afternoons except Wednesday when we have a regular whole staff meeting. In addition regular parent consultation sessions are provided throughout the year.

We have lots of Curriculum Week Projects at Damers – sometimes they last two weeks!

Capes, Cloaks and Coats has been a great success, involving all the children and staff with lots of support from parents as well.

Capes, Cloaks and Coats had an RE link, using the story of Joseph and his Amazing Coat. The learning centred around the idea that stories can teach us important messages and the ‘special coat’ theme, in turn, linked us also to Anti-Bullying Week.

Some of the teachers kicked off the project with an exciting assembly, telling the story of a coat (which they wore) that was special to them.
