Short profile:
Schools are about people and da Vinci is the good place that it is because of what our students, staff, parents and Governors bring to it. We are immensely proud of our College. People who visit us find a well-ordered, secure and caring environment where young people and adults alike can achieve their full potential. We have very high expectations, believing that learning should be challenging, stimulating and above all enjoyable. We are a small school by design and have created a family ethos where staff know their students well.
Detailed description:
At both Key Stages we cover all statutory requirements and provide breadth and balance with an appropriate emphasis on core subjects
We have introduced a new structure at Key Stage 3 that allows fast-tracking for our most able and intervention programmes to address the needs of our students with the highest levels of need
At Key Stage 4 we offer a wide range of qualifications including GCSE, BTEC, OCR Nationals, Diplomas and Entry Level. All students follow a Technology option at Key Stage 4. We are able to provide an impressive range of Technology courses including Resistant Materials, Manufacturing, Hospitality and Catering, Textiles, Product Design, Graphics and Construction
We offer a wide range of off-site learning experiences including skiing abroad, a languages visit to France and visits to various cultural events. Holiday attainment clubs and after school study support, including one to one tuition, are well attended. The choice of extra-curricular provision has widened to cover a greater range of student interest, such as chess, basketball, netball and dance. Participation rates have rapidly increased and some of our students find it hard to fit in all they want to do
