Cumbria Vision is the organisation driving forward the economic regeneration of England's most beautiful and unique county.
We are a sub-regional partnership established by the Northwest Regional Development Agency in 2005 to galvanise public and private sector stakeholders and bring a single direction to Cumbria’s significant regeneration agenda, which spans both urban and rural concerns.
Detailed description:
For the past two years Cumbria Vision and partners within the public and private sectors have been working together to establish a single set of clear and deliverable economic priorities for Cumbria. We have worked through a process of analysis that has identified Cumbria’s key strengths and what needs to be done strategically to build on them for the benefit of the whole County. At the same time we have brought together in a single document all the economically relevant projects within the County that are currently at some stage of conception, planning or development.
The result is the Cumbria Economic Strategy – a document which sets a clear direction for the next 10 years; and the Sub Regional Action Plan – which contains 20 priority regeneration projects that will either progress or be completed over the next three years, and in the long term could create more than 11, 000 new jobs.
