The Croglin Castle is a 6 bedroom hotel with a superb bar and restaurant offering hearty breakfasts to residents and non-residents, as well as traditional home cooked food from 12pm every day using local produce wherever possible. We are Ideal for coast to coast walkers, offering not only clean and comfortable accomodation, but we have a microbrewery on site, serving a variety of real ales. Our food is all homemade and you can enjoy them by the roaring log fire at the end of a long days walk. All front facing rooms have a view of nine standards.

Detailed description:

The pub caters for walkers, bikers, campers and locals alike. Accommodation is basic, but clean and comfortable. There are 2 shared bathrooms and most rooms have their own handbasin. The Croglin Castle is situated on the outskirts of Kirkby Stephen next to Stainmore Railway Museum and opposite Pennine View Caravan Site and within easy reach of Kirkby Stephen railway station and town centre.

All of our rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. They offer superb views of the surrounding area, including stunning views of the 9 Standards.

Our Double bedrooms are simply furnished with double bed, a double wardrobe and set of drawers giving plenty storage space. They have shared bathroom facilities but do have their own handbasin. All rooms offer views of the surrounding countryside.

    It's such a normal place, considering what you pay I think is a good deal, the food is delicious, and you should definetely try the beer which is brewed there, such a good ale.

    New owners and service accommodations are horrible. Had reservations for this establishment and was shocked by the level of filth and service. Entered after doing the C2C walk and was immediately overcome by the total filth from floor to ceiling, horrible smell similar to sewage, and total unkempt appearance. Met another couple on the walk that had stayed there and mentioned bed bugs in the rooms. Employees were incredibly rude and hostile and pub filled with hooligans. I have seen cleaner surroundings in sheep pens. Immediately cancelled reservations and stayed at the Black Bull which was spotless and excellent service. BE ADVISED
