Short profile:

Cripps is an isolated 18th-Century Cotswold stone barn set in lovely countryside near Bibury in the Coln Valley. Converted in 1990, one of the first party barns, Cripps is primarily a wedding venue, but is also used for company, drinks and birthday parties. Cripps is available from 1st February through to Christmas and offers a combination of advantages: A captivating woodland glade with a ceremony shelter for Civil ceremonies.

A unique setting and atmosphere which makes for informal and relaxed events The friendliness of a family business A 1.00 a.m. licence (even later by special extension).

A bonfire area Free camping for guests A backup generator in case of power cuts.

Detailed description:

Capacity: Cripps has one very large room with flagstone floors, a huge open fireplace and wooden beams. Alongside there is currently a marquee owned by our caterers - this is to be replaced with a traditional oak building in January 2012. For Civil Weddings we are licensed for 120 in the barn itself and a further 40 can be seated in the Oak Room.

For eating the barn will accommodate 10 round tables, each of which seats 10 people, giving a capacity of 100. Most parties of over 60 people (and all weddings over 40 people) will need to hire the Oak Room as well to provide circulation space and room for the bar.

With parties over 100, you can eat in the Oak Room and use the barn as the dancing area.
