The School’s Aims are:
to create a stable, well-disciplined environment where the
children are encouraged to live in harmony with, and to develop, respect for, others and their surroundings
to provide for all abilities and make every effort to extend each, child to his or her fullest potential
to help children to become independent learners, to encourage children to produce work of real quality and to allow, them to take a pride in their efforts and achievements, to encourage all children to acquire independence in all their
activities so that they play an increasing part in self-discipline and
self-organisation.
Detailed description:
Mathematics, English, Science, Information Technology, Design and Technology, History, Art, Geography, P.E., French, Music and PMFL, curricula have been
published by the Department for Education and Science. Religious Education is
included in the curriculum as is Personal, Social Health and Citizenship
Education. Sex and Relationship Education is also part of the PSHCE curriculum.
At the end of Key Stages one and two, children will undertake statutory
assessment. Parents will be informed of the results of this assessment. Children's
progress is regularly checked against the national targets.
Every child is given an annual written report on progress. Parent evenings for
consultations with teachers are held in the autumn term and a parent/child
achievement evening in the spring term. During the summer term parents are
invited to discuss the report. Parents are welcome generally to make
appointments to see teachers when they wish.
