We offer our learners a broad range of activities during the school day and after school. Detailed description:
We provide a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum which engages all our learners. Gold level Inclusion Standard indicates that we are attempting to meet the needs of all learners.
Tracking procedures allow for more effective monitoring of progress and intervention strategies are put into place where appropriate.
Focus upon pupil engagement in lessons, pupil learning styles, effective teaching strategies, pace of lessons, differentiation has been via Headteacher and peer observation of lessons, scrutiny of planning and pupils work.
Transition arrangements between home/school, key stages and primary/high school are effective.
We are ensuring pupil involvement in their own learning by incorporating their ideas into the planning of the Foundation subjects.
We have developed a more personalised system of rewards so that pupils are clear about how they are “smart” rather than how smart they are. We recognise and reward achievements around multiple intelligences and our weekly "Talent and Rewards" assembly reflects achievements related to the” Every Child Matters” outcomes.
