NHS County Durham and Darlington Community Health Services - under the auspices of NHS Darlington - is registered with the Care Quality Commission under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 to provide a wide range of NHS services to the community across County Durham and Darlington. Currently County Durham and Darlington Community Health Services is an arms length body providing health care on behalf of NHS Darlington which has given delegated authority to the community health services board and its chief operating officer to deliver community care services on its behalf. Services include community nursing such as health visiting, district nursing and community matrons; unscheduled care such as the urgent centre and out of hours service; specialist services such as physiotherapy, retinal screening and many more.
