I am a registered counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice in Canary Wharf in the Docklands of East London (E14). I have previously worked in organisations providing counselling to bereaved adults; women struggling with domestic violence; as well as the charity Mind where I counselled people with a range of psychological symptoms including anxiety and depression, stress, panic disorders and suicidal thoughts.
I am a member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) as well as registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP) and abide by their ethical guidelines. This means that I am an approved practioner and am regularly supervised to ensure professional practice.
Company description I work with adults in person at my counselling and psychotherapy practice in Canary Wharf. I also offer therapy by Skype to individuals who find it difficult to access therapy in any other way. To make appointment times as convenient for you as possible, I can arrange them for an afternoon or evening to most suit your weekly routine. But before you make your first appointment, you might like have a free no-obligation conversation with me over the phone. This way, you can find out more about me and ask questions before deciding to meet up. The practice is less than an eight-minute walk from Canary Wharf Underground Station (Jubilee Line) and four minutes from West India Quay DLR station.
This is less than a 15-minute journey from London Bridge, Bank, Tower Hill, Greenwich and Stratford. The building has disabled access and free parking can be arranged on request for all clients. At your first session, or assessment, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and what you hope to get out of it. I will be honest with you about how we could work together to tackle the difficulties you are facing. If you then decide that it is for you, we will agree an initial time frame to work towards and review your progress regularly.
It is important that you can commit to a 50-minute session at the same time every week to make sure that you get the most out of therapy. I will hold this space open just for you but will always do my best to reschedule appointments if possible. The following is a list of my formal education resulting in professional qualifications: ¿ Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy (pending submission 2012) – Middlesex University ¿ Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy – Metanoia Institute / UKCP accredited course ¿ Graduation Diploma in Psychology – University of East London ¿ NCFE in Person-Centred Counselling - BACP accredited course ¿ Bachelor of Arts: Psychology and Communications – UNISA
