At Cottingley Village Primary School we provide a broad and balanced education for all the children in our care. We aim to create a happy, caring, and stimulating learning environment in which all children can grow in confidence and fulfil their potential.
Detailed description:
We are delighted to be able to offer our children a wide range of activities during the day and after school. We make full use of our extensive grounds and building and make good use of other resources in the community.
Activities which children were involved in last year were:-
Games, sport, dance, gym, athletics, orienteering, Clubs after school and at lunchtimes
Music tuition, sewing, choir, craft, drama, ICT
Parties, discos
Outings, visits, residentials
Inter school events and tournaments
Visits to art galleries, museums and the local area
Participation in competitions
Themed days
Visits by drama gorups, musicians and other local school children
Weekly gardening
Opportunities to represent the school either using their sporting skills, vocal skills or as a representative of the school council or leanring team.
Business and enterprise actvities with the local high school
Modern foreign language lessons
Junior playleader roles
Having a voice in the development and improvement of the school
We believe that these activities are very valuable and enrich and broaden the curriculum.We actively encourage all children to take part and offer appropriate activities for all age groups.
