COTON C OF E PRIMARY SCHOOL

We believe in enriching the curriculum and aim to provide the children with many experiences beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum. This year we have offered brass, strings and woodwind music tuition from Year 4 onwards. Key Stage 2 children have class bands and we have an after school choir group. Children have had input from various Sports Coaches including rugby, cricket, netball, tennis and gymnastics. We have offered a range of before and after school sports activities. Parents have been involved in training children for Safe Cycling. All classes have had Educational visits to enrich the topic work they have been doing. The Y5/6 class have a link with a school in Walthamstow. All Key stage 2 children are given the opportunity to participate in a residential visit to Grafham Water Centre (Y3/4) and Hilltop Outdoor Activity Centre Sheringham (Y5/6). All pupils participate in drama, dance and music performances. The KS1 Christmas play was ‘The Story of Silent Night’ and the KS2 end of year play was ‘Pinafore Pirates’. Both were excellent and memorable perfomances, with every child being fully involved.
