Short profile:

Mocha Italia is the name Sergio and Bruno Costa gave to their own special blend of coffee beans 39 years ago. It's a unique blend as it manages to combine the sweetness, bitterness and body needed to make the perfect cup of coffee. As for the blend itself, that's a closely guarded secret, but you can enjoy a cup of its distinctive flavour and a warm Italian welcome at any of our Costa coffee shops.

There are some things in life that should never be rushed, coffee being one of them. That's why we only ever slow-roast our coffee beans - to bring out a fuller flavour and stronger aroma. It's a traditional process that takes a little longer, but it's well worth the wait.

Detailed description:

As well as offering the finest coffee, Costa has a wide range of alternatives including hot chocolate, teas and infusions, iced coffees & frescato.

To the untrained eye, a coffee bean is a coffee bean is a coffee bean. Well, not if you work at Costa. We have people who devote their entire working lives to sourcing, checking and blending our beans.

At our Roastery, for instance, Gennaro (he's our Coffee Maestro) and his team spend hours every day examining, cupping and charting the exact acidity, body, sweetness, bitterness and aroma profiles of our Mocha Italia blend. It's like an obsession. If any coffee doesn't make the grade, it doesn't make it to a Costa store, simple as that.

We only ever slow-roast our coffee beans. We've been doing it this way since 1971, and we're not about to change. Why? Because this is the only way you can only extract the true, as-nature-intended coffee flavour and aroma. And those are two things we're not prepared to compromise (even if other coffee stores would).
