    The product ( Outdoor Storage Box) was reduced in price. No wonder - virtually impossible for me to assemble without breaking/chipping the plasic. Unable to return for refund as they will not accept unless " in pristine condition".

    The remains now at rest in local tip!

  • The voucher trick

    I too wish that I had read this blog about poor customer service from Coopers of Stortford! I just completed an order for a lamp - expecting a place to open for my £5 off voucher code to be entered - but it just moved through to finalising the order and my £5 off offer has been lost. I don't like being cheated like that - even if the order was not for that large an amount. I also don't like companies that trade on line, promising a lot and then failing to deal with their customers promptly and apparently effectively too. Never again! I hope Coopers or whoever is responsible for fair trading read these comments!

    Purchased their fryer which broke down on first use (no power) so tried to contact the store by phone, spend 15 minutes wating of cutomer services then gave up. Got through to the sales department but they say they can't transfer call to customer services but could take my details and someone would phone me back in 48hours! Seem this store is as bad as the other reviews describe - if only I had known.

    I've used Coopers a few times and always received stuff, though not immediately. Would be nice to know if it's delayed. Quality is reasonable for the price. Can often get things I can't get in local shops, and often put in online order at midnight, which is useful. Fortunately I haven't had to use complaints, but bad service seems to be endemic among these companies, as I've reads in reviews of other catalogue stores, too

    I ordered the goods on 5th October and they have still not arrived. I have emailed twice and each time received an automated reply saying that they are very busy but will reply within one day - nothing.

    Each time I telephoned I have been told that I was either 25th or (today) 37th on the waiting list.

    Is this company actually still trading ?

    Alas, I have to agree with the other customers: the customer service is non-existant: whenever I try to contact them "my call is very important to them" only I am 37th in the queue! Emails remain unanswered either. Goods are usually sub-standard. An absolute RUBBISH company that should not be allowed to trade

    I ordered several items from Coopers. I returned a ceramic car heater - code C624 - and it was inferior in quality and hardly produced any heat. However, my main item was a 12volt 4in1 jump starter - code C206. The item was ordered and delivered on time before Christmas 2010. Unfortunately it was damaged and after many emails and delays it was collected. A replacement was sent out a couple of weeks later and despite clear delivery instructions went to the wrong address. I did eventually get it BUT again it was damaged. Again after many emails and a couple of more weeks it was collected BUT despite assurances that a replacement would be left, nothing was. Again after many emails, nothing has happened. It is nearly impossible to get hold of Coopers on the phone. I tried again today and was number 34 in the queue. It is my opinion that Coopers just 'revolves' its damaged goods. They are clearly not inspected prior to dispatch.

I have ordered a step ladder - the first arrived with broken feet and with much inconvenience on my part - and with customer service ranging from couldn't care less to it being my fault I wasn't in when they rang to arrange a collection - was eventually collected. A replacement was sent out 4 weeks later - in exactly the same condition! Plastic clips had been cut through so I know it must have been a return. The company clearly doesn't monitor its returned goods. I will never use again and would strongly advise anybody to think carefully before placing an order themselves.

    Goods Ordered on the 28th of AUG I Emailed them round about the 4th of Sept to ask when my goods will be Delivered, I Received an Email from them sometime later and was Told that these goods where Dispatched on the 3rd of SEPT and that they expect their couriers to deliver within 5 working Days...Well Todays the 11th and STILL no Goods. The other thing is their PREMIUM RATE customer services Number' When I Tried this the 1st time I Was told that I Was nos 17 in the Queue and I Hung up,When I Tried this the 2nd Time I Was then told that I Was nos 14 in the Queue....This Cannot be right...This sounds like to me a bit of a Scam! I Will never use this Company again..
