We work with planning authorities and other decision makers from extensive experience of their culture, policy and practice. We are a warm and careful team of historic building consultants and heritage architects for whom being lead consultants is a familiar role.
More than 800 designated historic areas, and thousands of other special policy areas, are subject to strict control aimed at ensuring that any development preserves or enhances character or appearance. Proposals have to be justified and decisions defended in conservation terms. Good ideas need to be developed, presented and financial mechanisms understood.
Consultancy commissions include historic site and building surveys; inspections, appraisals, feasibility studies, and Conservation Plans; fabric repair and design advice; support to clients and their teams in preparing planning and listed building applications; negotiation with decision makers and expert witness services
