Each cruise company is different in their approach and products they sell but generally there are two types of cruise - those that leave from the UK's ports (perfect for customers who prefer not to fly) and fly cruises - where you fly from an airport across the UK to where your cruise starts from and either take your cruise returning to the UK or fly back from the port overseas which your cruise finishes in. Want to try before you buy or take a shorter cruise Why not try a mini cruise to begin with or a ship visit - if you do this you can see the ship first hand and decide if cruising is for you.

A ship visit will show you all the public areas of the vessel and cabin grades and will usually include a meal and welcome drink too Not all cruises are the same Like a package holiday - you can choose the star rating of your hotel and how large it is. Not all cruises are hotels on the ocean with all singing and dancing entertainment - you can also experience small ship cruising with a smaller number of well appointed cabins and itineraries on rivers and seaways which larger vessels just cant stop at
