Connexions is a free and friendly service for all young people living in Cheshire and Warrington.
We can give you information, advice and practical help with all sorts of things that might be affecting you at school, college, work or in your personal or family life.
If you’re 13-19, and wanting advice on getting to where you want to be in life, we’re here to help.
We help you to make good career choices and succeed in education, employment or training. This helps improve your prospects and chances of a better future and lifestyle.
If more personal issues — such as health, homelessness and relationships — are affecting your choices and progress we can offer help with these by working with other support agencies. These include health and youth services.
Detailed description:
Provide expert support, information, advice and guidance for young people across Cheshire and Warrington on issues that affect their career, lifestyle and personal life.
Help young people learn about themselves, others and society through formal and informal educational activities, which combine challenge, learning and enjoyment.
We all want the best for our children – sometimes the changes in education and the workplace make us feel out of touch and unable to help.
Although you might think you don’t know where to start, and that you need to leave it to others to give this advice, you are a very important part of your child’s thinking about their future – what you say or do matters to them.
We often have quite a limited idea of jobs from what we do, television programmes or friends and neighbours. Try to help them look at all the things they could do and see how getting more qualifications can help them get a job with better pay and a good future.
Have a chat with a Careers Adviser in your child’s school or college, or in our Connexions Centres - they are up-to-date with all the options in work and education, what’s happening in the labour market, help with applying to university and money matters.
We don’t just look at jobs and careers though, as we know personal problems might be worrying young people and their parents, so Connexions are there to help with this too, and youth work in the area means young people have somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.
