Short profile:

The school is very proud of the partnership it has developed with parents. They are encouraged to take an active part in their children’s learning and are welcomed into school to help out in classes, assisting with educational visits and swimming.

Detailed description:

Opportunities are offered for discussion of individual children’s progress twice a year and in between parents and teachers initiate discussions as and when the need arises. Individual reports are issued in June of each year.

At the end of Year 6, the majority of children transfer to the High School at Market Bosworth.

There is an active Friends’ Association which raises funds and organises social and community events.

The school belongs to and plays an active role in Group One which is a Small School support group. This group provides professional support for staff and activities for the children and ensures that the school does not become isolated.

A very successful pre-school group (Playmates) meets each Thursday afternoon in the School Hall, under the guidance of the Nursery Nurse.

The school underwent a very successful OFSTED inspection in April 2008, being rated as “Outstanding”.

We have achieved Eco-school status, along with a Healthy Schools Award, Arts Award and the Activemark.

Our Key Stage One and Two SATs results are very good.

We pride ourselves in providing an all-round education with music, drama, sport and environmental issues high on our list of priorities.
