Short profile:

We are a firm of solicitors who specialise in "Collaborative Law". This is a relatively new legal approach which helps to resolve marital disputes or divorce in a respectful dignified way

We also offer comprehensive divorce advice and have an experienced Resolution solicitor heading our Family Law solicitor team.

Instead of allowing a marital break up to deteriorate and cause even more anguish for the parties involved, family lawyers have developed a new concept in divorce law. As the name suggests collaborative law is focused entirely on maintaining amicable dialogue in order to accelerate the legal process and avoid costly, unnecessary disputes.

In the collaborative divorce process the solicitors involved in the case and their clients agree to reach settlement without involving the courts. This allows disputes to be settled quickly, calmly and with dignity.

Detailed description:

Our team is headed by Viv Hulland who was one of the first practising collaborative lawyers in the north of England. It is taking time for the concept of Collaborative Law to become known and accepted by the public, and consequently, by far the majority of cases are still being conducted using the traditional route.

One of our key objectives is to promote the benefits of Collaborative Law in the UK.

The most rewarding aspect for Viv and the team has been that clients have found they have been able get to the end of such a challenging process in an amicable and dignified way. They have reached an agreement together with their ex-partner and are still able to continue to communicate with each other afterwards.

We have felt that by being a part of this process, we have offered the best advice possible and being able to help in such awkward circumstances has been a privilege.
