Colin Birchall is an established abstract painter working from a studio, gallery on St. Ives harbour front.
Detailed description:
He graduated in 1969 and worked as an art director and designer at a number of advertising agencies and design consultancies in London before moving to Cornwall in 1987 in order to devote more time to painting
Initially he worked as a senior lecturer at Falmouth School of Art and Design and after a spell as a freelance designer and illustrator, began painting full time in 1992.
Although he has painted a wide variety of subjects, the Penwith landscape and rocky coastline have provided the main source of inspiration and his increasingly abstract work still has a strong sense of place.
