Our business first opened its doors in late 1999, the office refurbishment and the setting up started in the July of that year and was completed in the December. When you open an Estate Agency there is a mountain of paperwork and planning to overcome, but we set about it and by working 24 hours a day we succeeded in opening by our deadline of December. We that is Kevin Coley and David Thomson had decided to open estate agency that offered the discerning client a hassle free solution to selling their home. If you have previously tried to sell and received a slow response from your Agent, only a few viewings and a poor level of communication you will understand how frustrating it can be when you pick the wrong company to sell with.

So with this in mind we set about recruiting the best staff and identifying the ideal technology to assist in our operation. When I say technology to be precise estate agency software that runs our business completely via the office computers therefore removing many outdated concepts such as type writers, photo copied sales details with stick on pictures or just plain old black and white particulars. We had previously experienced this technology in other estate agencies outside of Rushden, but this was truly ground breaking in the late 90’s in Rushden now it is more common place but it was Coley Thomson who first introduced this style of technology to the town.

The Estate Agency industry as a whole had a tarnished name and is still widely regarded by many as untrustworthy and inefficient, so introducing our own service culture enabled us to stand out from the crowd and we were soon being widely recommended and this is only in our first few months of trading. By Spring of 2000 we had been trading for 4 months and in an independent survey it was found Coley Thomson had more sold boards in Rushden and Higham Ferrers than any other Estate Agency, which was an incredible achievement.
