COLCHESTER CIVIC SOCIETY

We encourage high standards of architecture and town planning in England's oldest recorded town. We stimulate public interest in and care for the beauty, history and character of our historic town. We encourage the preservation, development and improvement of features of general public amenity and of historic interest. We do these things by way of meetings publications, visits and lectures.

We keep in touch with like minded bodies in other towns and cities and we were a founder member of the East of England Association of Civic Trust Societies. Their website can be accessed through the links page. We are a registered charity affiliated to the Civic Trust.
