Short profile:

Open 24 hrs.

Serious crime and terrorism continues to be a very high priority for us.

Serious and organised crime groups (SOCGs) operate across many areas of criminality including drugs, firearms, the sex industry, human trafficking, cash-in-transit robbery, fraud and money laundering. Where these groups operate there is a social cost to communities, economic damage and increased violence.

In line with Scottish Government strategy, our aim is to target the OCGs who pose the greatest threat with the intention of disrupting and dismantling each group.

Violence, disorder and antisocial behaviour in communities have a significant impact on public safety, fear of crime and quality of life. The core problem stems from a culture of alcohol misuse, knife carrying and territorialism. Violence often occurs in homes, on streets and around licensed premises.
