You would visit an Osteopath if you wanted to have any part of your musculo-skeletal system
(i.e. anything from head to toe, including muscles, joints, ligaments, nerves, blood supply etc) checked, diagnosed and treated to ensure that any current or past physical causes, or potential future causes, for pain and disability are dealt with.
An Osteopath is a legally regulated healthcare professional who specialises in structural and functional disorders of the human musculo-skeletal system.
Osteopaths use a variety of physical manipulative techniques which can include gentle massage, stretch and articulation all the way through to the stronger high velocity thrust (HVT or 'joint clicks') or conversely the extremely gentle cranial techniques.

Marc Jones has an extensive understanding of sport and its associated injuries through his wide-ranging experiences as both an athlete and as an Osteopath.
After his early school days of football, rowing and hiking through the mountains of Snowdonia he became a beach patrol lifeguard and a swimming and life-saving instructor which enabled him to go on to Sports College. From there, as well as achieving the academic standards required for his qualification, it was also necessary for him to become competitive across the sporting spectrum in such sports as football, rugby, hockey, tennis, squash, badminton, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, hiking, kayaking, swimming and athletics, some of which involved competing for the college at regional and national level.
Marc Jones was trained in undergraduate Cranial Osteopathy at the British School of Osteopathy, London in the early 1990s and performed most of his cranial treatments with expectant mothers and babies while simultaneously delivering musculo-skeletal osteopathy for his general and sports injury patients.
Having over the past five years been very busy with musculo-skeletal treatments, a number of his patients have asked if he would offer cranial treatments again, so he has now added the parallel cranial osteopathic treatment of CranioSacral Therapy to his skill-set and is happy to offer cranial osteopathic treatment once more.
Osteopath Marc Jones is trained in the safe use and application of medical acupuncture. He is able to offer this treatment for musculoskeletal and other structural conditions in conjunction with osteopathy. He does not offer this treatment for non-structural conditions such as weight-loss, infertility, smoking cessation etc.
