Newcastle Families Information Service (FIS) offers a free and impartial service providing up-to-date information, advice and assistance. This includes a wide range of services and activities for children, young people, parents and carers, including: childcare (childminders, nurseries, playgroups, crèches, out of school and holiday clubs); Sure Start Children’s Centres; parent and toddler groups; toy libraries; parenting support; things to do and places to go, including sports, holiday activities, play and leisure; extended services through schools services; support and activities for children with disabilities and their families advice and counselling services clubs and organisations – for parents, carers and young people; volunteering and community organisations; health services; financial support for childcare; working or training in childcare and becoming a registered childminder; school admissions; adult learning.
