CHESTNUTS RIDING SCHOOL

  Being a total TOTAL beginner I knew of only two riding schools near to me. I went to Chestnuts first and was really happy with my first few lessons, however I did go to another school with a friend. On experiencing the other schools, get em in get em out method (could have just been busy as it was a bank holiday)and their method of teaching I have have no hesitation whatsoever in staying with Chestnuts. The comparison as a brand new adult couldnt have been different. I have never felt nervous or apprehensive in a lesson at Chestnuts and have been treated as if I want to actually learn rather than someone just 'taking up a new hobby' and for those of you have learnt as an adult you will know what I mean. Just because Im a an adult doesnt mean that its a passing phase and Im treating it as some sort of indulgance. If you are thinking of learning then you will appreciate not being treated as a' half an hour fit in as much as you can'

  Lessons here are taken slowly with real consideration to learning the basics no rushing to move onto the next step.

  At the start of every lesson you're taken through a quick recap of what you've been through before which to some may seem to be eating up into the half an hour but I think its so important if you're only able to go once a week or every couple of weeks.

  There is a covered arena and there are no distractions whilst the lesson is happening.

  Of course you want to be cantering and going on hacks as soon as possible but as Ive discovered there is so so much to riding that you have to feel safe and secure in the knowledge you can actual ride and control your horse with real confidence and knowledge in order to move to those steps.

  I absolutely love my lessons at Chestnuts and have discovered a brand new passion.
