CHELSEA FLOWERS

A florist is in the business of buying, or sometimes growing, and arranging flowers and ornamental plants in order to sell them. Those in the floristry trade look after the handling of flowers, creating floral designs or arrangements, then displaying, retailing and delivering them. Wholesale florists deal in large volumes of flowers which they buy from the farmers and deliver to the retailers, who in turn sell the flowers individually or as arrangements. Floristry is the art of creating designs in a vase, bowl or other container by making use of flowers and associated items like leaves or grass. Some florists may choose to specialise in weddings, creating floral arrangements like bridal bouquets, buttonholes, table arrangements and bridesmaid baskets.
