Stephen Blatchford, Chief Executive of Chas A Blatchford, took over as the fourth generation owner in 1985 and under his leadership the company has become a global provider in prosthetic and orthotic products and services. Educated at Oxford with a BA in maths and MSc in computation, Stephen also gained an MBA with the Open University. Blatchford is one the world’s longest established prosthetics companies which is growing rapidly by using effective service and product innovation. The corporate headquarters is located in the UK, with additional clinical, manufacturing, research and development and sales locations in the USA, Germany, France, India and Russia. In the UK we are delighted that we have once again won the very important contract to supply Prosthetic services to the MOD at Headley Court and we have over 35% of all UK NHS prosthetics contracts .

Recent manufacturing innovations include the Echelon Foot, a unique hydraulic foot nominated for a Mac Roberts Award, our biomimetic Endolite Foot Range which won the Queen’s Award for Innovation last year and our microprocessor controlled, self-programming knees; previous winners of Prince of Wales and Design Council Awards. Blatchford employs in excess of 600 employees in clinics and offices worldwide. As the largest Prosthetic and Orthotic Company in the U.K., Blatchford has provided clinically excellent Prosthetic services for over 100 years. We also we recruit and promote the best people to support our growing business. Our Orthotic Service Manager heads a group of three Area Managers who are responsible for our teams of orthotists. Each Orthotic Manager is a highly experienced, practicing clinician who works closely with our customers to ensure that we deliver the best service in a timely, pleasant and professional manner. The provision of a range of special seating solutions at local level is a complex issue. The postural requirements and social needs are unique to each client and usually need individual optimisation. Blatchford Seating Services offers both an exhaustive range of readily available products and a custom approach to rehabilitation equipment for specialist cases. Blatchford has worked in partnership with its customers to develop and design a range of bespoke and Class 1 seating ranges, capable of meeting the ever changing needs of the client.
