CHARLTON RECYCLED AUTOPARTS

In 1977, having completed an apprenticeship as a Motor Vehicle Technician with Vauxhall Motors in Luton, Terry Charlton joined the company. In 1979, under his management, the company constructed a three-storey warehouse and introduced many American methods into the business. During the 1980's the company continued to develop and outgrew the Sawston site. As a result, Carlton Recycled Autoparts moved to a 4.5 acre premises with 36, 000sq.ft of warehousing at Waterbeach. In 1995 this move was completed.

Charlton’s then introduced; mail order, van deliveries, and guarantees, and became a premier supplier of quality cleaned and tested secondhand parts. In 2001 the business began to specialise in selling quality, guaranteed, cleaned and tested parts for Mercedes, Mitsubishi, Dodge, SmartCar and Chrysler/Jeep from their new premises in Thriplow. After 26 years of trading Charlton’s still operate to the same high standards as they did in 1971. Charltons dismantle approx 300 vehicles each year and cover all models produced by their specialist brands, from the mid 90's to current year.
