Champ Ltd (Community, Heritage, Arts & Media Project) is a registered Charity which was established in 1998 to engage local communities in their heritage through the mediums of art and media. Champ Ltd has worked on a wide range of exciting and very successful projects throughout the years. These have included working with diverse partners at local, regional and national level. The Trust is now responsible for the management and development of a diverse collection of community buildings and projects in Barton upon Humber and its role and expertise continues to grow.

Detailed description:

Our Home. Baysgarth House Museum --- Formerly the home of the Wright-Taylor family, Baysgarth House has been in public ownership since 1930. In 2004 Champ Ltd took over the management of the house including its buildings, museum, collections and archives. Champ Ltd’s offices are within the Museum, which is a Grade 2 listed building set in 30 acres of beautiful parkland. Located in the charming and historic market town of Barton upon Humber, the facilities at Baysgarth House Museum are perfect for meetings, conferences, one off events, educational visits and private functions, with ample onsite parking. Staffed mainly by a team of dedicated volunteers, Baysgarth House Museum celebrates the lives of local people through permanent and temporary exhibitions and projects.

The archives, which form part of the Museum Collection is now managed by the Barton and District History Group. The group aim to facilitate access and further acquisitions. Get Involved at Baysgarth House Museum --- The "Get Involved!" volunteering project at Baysgarth House Museum offers a unique and rewarding experience that provides you with the opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills. As a museum volunteer you can take part in fascinating and fun activities while working within a friendly, dedicated volunteering team. You will participate in a variety of museum activities and receive training and support to help you develop skills in range of different areas.

Volunteering at Baysgarth House Museum is designed to be flexible to suit your needs. You can volunteer for as long or as little as you like and you don't need any previous experience. All we ask is that you are enthusiastic and willing to learn. We currently have volunteering vacancies in our Visitor, Interpretation and Collection Teams.
