Detailed description:
We offer pupils an extensive programme of extra-curricula activities that include lunchtime and after school clubs, sports fixtures, twilight and evening classes, residential and non-residential visits, masterclasses, workshops and music and arts festivals. We also provide a full programme of complimentary studies for targeted pupils. The development of the pathways curriculum and the out of hours learning through period 6 & 7 has increased opportunities for pupils to access the facilities to support their learning, including work-based learning. The pathways are differentiated and determine whether the pupils study Triple Science, one language or two, (at least two thirds of the pupils complete a qualification in, at least, one language by the end of KS4, ) Level 3 qualifications and extra English and/or Maths.
We feel these activities help develop our pupils academically and socially as well as encouraging them to become rounded individuals. It is our policy to encourage all pupils to take part in enrichment activities on and off the school premises during their five years with us.
