Short profile:

We are proud to be part of Cats Protection, the UK's leading feline welfare charity. The York Branch of Cats Protection was established in January 1992, and our Adoption Centre at 582 Huntington Road opened its gates in April 2001. We are one of a network of 29 Adoption Centres and over 260 volunteer-run branches, who work in the rescuing, treating, neutering and re-homing of unwanted or abandoned cats and kittens. We are able to help hundreds of cats each year in the York area.

Through our Adoption Centre and network of volunteers we provide food, shelter, veterinary treatment and plenty of fuss to needy cats until permanent, safe and loving homes can be found for them.

Detailed description:

Looking for help and advice on caring for your cat? - why not take a look at Caring for Cats and choose from our comprehensive range of Care Guides which cover almost every aspect of cat welfare.

We receive no funding, and rely entirely on fundraising, sales in our charity shop and generous donations from the public to be able to continue our work. You can now make an online donation to York Cats Protection via PayPal. Any contribution made, however small, will be of genuine help to the cats in our care.

Our small team is made up of the Adoption Centre Manager, the Deputy Manager, and our enthusiastic Cat Care Assistants and volunteers. The staff and most especially the cats, look forward to welcoming you.
