From George Davies, Richards Great Grandfather, through to Leonard and Robert and now Richard the Davies Family have been connected to the catering trade for over 100 years. As a master baker George Davies moved from Leintwardine, Shropshire to where he met and married Mary whose parents kept the Crown Inn at Eardington, Bridgnorth. George and Mary opened the Bakery and Cafe (pictured) in 1914 where Later Leonard was to take over as Master Baker in 1949. In the 60's with diversification and a change in trends ment the Bakery was re-styled as an "Espresso Bar" by this time Leonard assisted by his wife Muriel was running many cafes, amusement halls, evening venue's and a large event catering business.

In the mid 70's Robert seeing the opportunity for the Event Hire market, launched "Davies Hire Service" a catering equipment hire company to compliment the existing family business. The 70'S and 80'S meant growth of the Hire and the stepping away from catering and food production, Robert was one of the original pioneers of catering auctions in the 80's and 90's holding up to 5 auctions a week around the country before semi-retiring in 1993 and selling off Davies Hire. With a customer base and passion for the industry burning inside of him, Richard started taking on Catering equipment dealerships and building up the equipment sales side.

Relocating to Halesfield, Telford where they are today. Catering Centre UK now sees itself, not only online selling catering equipment but in auctions once again utilising the huge market place that eBay provides, as well as supplying equipment globally to many customers overseas. They are also back leading the way in the Catering Hire business with many customers relying on the expertise as they have done over the last 35 years!
