Castledown School is situated in the historic town of Hastings. We are a two-form entry school with our own Nursery.
Our children are amazing. Come and visit and have doors held open; recognise the pleases and thank yous which are part of our everyday life, and join the excitement of a growing learning community where we all strive to get better everyday.
Detailed description:
Outside of the curriculum pupils have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities including dance, karate, football, computer and gardening club.Year 4 pupils undertake a short residential trip to Mallydams and year 6 are taken on an activity holiday.Year 3 and year 4 pupils learn to swim.Key stage 2 pupils are encouraged to take up the violin and there are lessons in keyboard and recorder.Pupils can also become members of 'The Green Team' where they develop their knowledge of recycling and conservation issues.All classes provide day trips for their pupils to farms, the local environment, the sea, local museums, art galleries and to London.
