Short profile:
Many extra-curricular activities: residential visits to Kingswood activity centre or York etc.
Sport for all includes cycling, as well as team activities such as football, netball, rugby, rounders, cricket, dance, gymnastics, volleyball and basketball
Music activities include singing for all, recorders, choir. We hold 2 annual school concerts and one Christmas concert at the local church. We take part in a yearly music festival. Peripatetic teachers offer drums, guitar, flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, viola, trumpet, trombone, cornet and tenor and french horn lessons. 4 lunchtime clubs: choir, percussion, recorder, guitar, vocal training. 1 after school club for piano. We also offer professional percussion ensemble lessons. We take part in orchestral workshops and choir festival..
Pupils have swimming lessons in year 5.
Gardening club won a special schools award in a competition. It will be growing fruit and herbs to be used in cookery
In Year 6 we have identified children who have not made progress in Art; they have been attending an art club and this has raised their levels in all cases, since September, by at least 2 sub-levels.
