Short profile:
The doctors and staff at the Canterbury Health Centre are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare. We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups. In addition to everything you need to know about the practice you will also find a wealth of health-related information in the menu on the right hand side.
Please have a look around and do send us some feedback if you like. There is good access for the disabled to all of our consultation rooms.
A designated parking bay is adjacent to the surgery entrance and the surgery has wide doors to allow for wheelchair access.
Detailed description:
We run all our surgeries by an appointment only system. Some appointments can be booked up to a month in advance, some within 48 hours and the rest are 'book on the day' appointments. Please telephone the surgery to book an appointment. We try to make sure you see the doctor of your choice but if they are not available we will ask you to see another doctor.
If you are too ill to come to the surgery and you require a visit at home, please call the surgery. Home visits take up much more of a doctor’s time than a consultation in the surgery, so if you are mobile please come into the surgery to be seen. Please contact the surgery should you require a home visit.
House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability. Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.
