Short profile:
The Cambridge Forum for the Construction Industry was founded in 1980 as an informal local society whose members work in or otherwise have an interest in the construction industry. It promotes an understanding of those topics in the industry, which cover a wider field than those normally dealt with by the local branches of the various learned and professional societies. This it does by arranging a programme of meetings, seminars and visits.
Detailed description:
Meetings of the Forum generally draw an audience of 50 to 100 and the breadth of membership attracts speakers of the highest quality. A feature of the Forum meetings is the concluding open forum discussion between the panel of speakers and the audience. The Forum is financially self-supporting and it has no commercial aims or political affiliations. Its members include building owners, building contractors, sub-contractors, architects, surveyors, engineers, lawyers, accountants and trades union representatives.
