Short profile:

Rainwater Harvesting Tanks, Storage and potable Tanks

Detailed description:

The Camplas ‘Rainsaver’ above ground and below ground tanks are now eligible for the ECA, bringing forward the time that tax relief is available by allowing the full cost to be written off in the period in which the qualifying spending occurred. The above ground tanks have a capacity of up to 150, 000 litres and the below ground version up to 300, 000 litres. They are designed to be connected to the roof drainage system of a building and then overflow back into the system when full.

The rainwater saved is generally used for ‘grey water’ applications, anything from flushing toilets, to washing vehicles and irrigation. The main beneficiaries are expected to be those affected by the impending drought this summer when water shortages are predicted to be widespread.

Apart from the ECA, there can be substantial savings in water bills and sewerage charges. The environmental benefits are considerable since not only will the tanks save rainwater that would otherwise go to waste but in times of heavy rainfall they act as attenuators helping to prevent flooding by holding back the first flush of heavy rain.
