CAGE GREEN PRIMARY SCHOOL

Cage Green Primary School believes that education is not only about the gaining of knowledge and the acquiring of skills but also about personal development in the fullest sense.

The fullest sense is the wording of the Schools Act of 1992 one which encompasses the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of all pupils.

We encourage and expect high standards of discipline. Good behaviour is rewarded. Appropriate sanctions are imposed for bad behaviour and parents are always advised if there is any behavioural problems. Usually we are proud of the way our children behave, particularly when representing the school at outside events.

We believe that a sound home/school relationship is essential for good pastoral care. We want the children to feel happy when they are in school and we feel that clear communication between parents and teachers will help achieve this.

Teachers, parents and children all sign a home/school agreement at the beginning of each year.

Parents are welcome into the school to discuss any problems. It is helpful to make an appointment if possible. Children are cared for by their class teachers with support from their senior and auxiliary staff. Several teaching and non-teaching staff are trained in first aid and deal with minor injuries. In the rare event of a more serious accident, parents are always contacted.
