The Buryhill Herd of pedigree Dexter Cattle was registered in 2008 with the Dexter Cattle Society, we are however not new breeders and have kept Dexters for a number of years prior to registering the herd.
The herd presently is over 250 pure bred Dexter Cattle, with 7 stock bulls (including Saltaire Pigment* (who has passed stage 1 of the DCS Elite Bull Scheme). All calves are single suckled with their mothers, until weaning naturally at around 9 months. The herd is however increasing all of the time with new calves being born regularly as well as new stock being introduced. We intend to increase numbers to over 300 during 2009 to ensure a constant supply of home reared beef and stock for sale.
Once the herd is more established and numbers increased to a higher level we will have regurlar availability of quality stock for sale to smallholder's and new keepers.

Bury Hill Dexters aim is to provide the highest quality Dexter Beef . We raise our herd of Dexter Cattle in a traditional way, to the highest possible standards.
The stewardship of our land is of vital importance to us, traditional harrowing and mowing along with natural fertilisers are used to maintain healthy pasture. Thus ensuring our animals have a totally natural diet. Animal welfare and full traceability are our top priority, from pasture to plate.
We mature our beef for 21 days before butchering and packing a range of choice cuts, joints & steaks which are vacuum packed. Ready for cooking or the freezer. Please contact for availability of Meat Boxes, we are currently taking orders for the next batch of our superb Dexter Beef which will be ready from early january 2010.
We will also soon be selling our beef through the new ‘farm shop' and also through selected local shops and markets throughout the area- please keep an eye on the website for updates.
