Detailed description:

Burntwood School has a wide range of activities available to students.  Enrichment activites include:

Art gallery visits

Chamber choir

Dance performance visits

Gospel choir

Historic site visits

Master classes in many subjects, including Science

Museum visits

Orchestra

Participation in sporting competitions

Steel Pan Band

Theatre visits

Wide variety of clubs and societies

There is an established tradition of performance including:

2 annual music concerts

Dance and drama performances

There are many trips and journeys including to:

Spain, France, Lake District, Wales, Iceland.

Students and staff participated in a wide range of charitable fund raising activities.

Activities to promote awareness of the environment and global issues were held and we are working to become a Fair Trade school.

All Year Ten students and vocational Year Twelve students benefit from two weeks work experience.  The range of placements is wide including retail, voluntary organisations, public sector and media.  Each year a significant number of students are offered continuing work at their placements, and we receive reports commenting on the high standard of the students we provide and in particular that the students have a high level of ICT skills.
