BUILDING INVESTIGATION AND TESTING SERVICES (SURREY) LTD

B.I.T.S. was formed when the management bought out the assets of S.G.S. UKs building division in a management buyout. (Originally, all of the directors and staff were part of the building investigation and testing team at Fulmer Yarsley, prior to the take over of Fulmer Yarsley in 1990 by S.G.S.UK.)

Then in 2002, B.I.T.S. acquired the Plastic Pipe testing facility from ERA Technology, adding this to their testing team skills.

Put simply - the Directors and staff of B.I.T.S. have over 100 years worth of professional, high quality experience in the field of building and components testing, consultancy and litigation work.

But it doesn't stop at just building components. B.I.T.S. team of experts are also experienced and skilled in dealing with testing and consulting on building systems and products as well.

B.I.T.S. also maintain very close links with a series of approved associates and skilled professionals whose expertise is relevant to the building industry, ensuring that their specialist niche knowledge is on tap and available to our clients as and when required.

As you would expect from a professional company, B.I.T.S. laboratory is accredited by UKAS (accreditation number 1614). We are members of the Association of Building Component Manufacturers (ABCM) as well as being representative on many buildings' related BSI committees. This means that B.I.T.S. is always at the forefront of the latest industry and government required specification or legislation and can advise you on your requirements from an informed and factual point of view - not guesswork!
