BUILD is a Norfolk based independent registered charity providing support to people with learning difficulties over the age of 13.The organisation is led by people with learning difficulties, as trustees of the organisation, and delivers a range of services which include:A Youth Group for 13-18 year olds based in central Norwich and DerehamSTEPS - a small training, consultancy and advocacy group providing services to internal and external groups in subjects such as disability awareness, communication and advocacy, as well as acting as BUILD's main consultancy channelMTV - the Member to Volunteer Scheme, where adults with learning difficulties are supported through training and mentoring to play a leading role in organising events and activities at BUILD and promote its services externallyBeFriends - developing one to one and small cluster partnerships in the Norwich, Broadland East and North Norfolk areas that support adults with learning difficulties to access leisure and community fa

Through funding drawn from a range of public, private and charitable trust investors, BUILD manages a range of services that include weekly social, leisure and learning activities and community based befriending for adults, integrated community based activities for young people (13-18) and specialist research, training and consultancy services.
BUILD began life in 1967 as the Wednesday Club, and in the last 10 years has expanded to offer a wider range of services that promote equality, confidence and opportunity for its members to help them make informed choices about an active community life.
